Job Connect

Job Connect is a program designed to assist unemployed youth gain the skills and knowledge they need in order to improve their employability and develop skills relevant to their specific career goals. Job Connect recognizes the value-added training provided through the apprenticeship program and wants to support both the employer and the OYAP student.

One component of Job Connect, of particular interest to employers, is Job Development Placement Support (JDPS).  Recognizing the degree of supervision and the amount of time it takes to train a new employee in an apprenticeable position, JDPS is able to provide a training subsidy.
